The story "Ring of Bright Water" is on 2 cassette tapes, each side having about half an hour of story on.
The first time I heard this,  it was in 8 by 15 minute episodes, and that's what I expected with this set of tapes. However, each side is being played right through, so instead of 8 episodes, we will hear the entire story with only 4 episodes.
This leaves 4 nights in the conceived programme 'til the end of May with no story scheduled.
So into this slot I'll play "Cider With Rosie", an dramatised autobiographical tale by Laurie Lee.
This too, will be heard in 4 by half hour episodes.
I hope you enjoy it.

At 5.30 each Tuesday is an item specifically for younger ears; we conclude the serial The Mouse and
his Child, and have some other stories, some songs, and a fantastical story of the composer
Tchaikovsky visiting America
At 6 pm is an episode of Life with the Lyons from the BBC, first aired in the 50s, and it followed a 6.30
every Tuesday by an item of interest out of our archives. A BBC interview with author Douglas Adams will be aired in this slot during April.
A longer piece of classical music is played at 7.30 and will include music by Bizet, Schubert, Schumann,
Brahms and Prokofiev, Beethoven and Mozart. A recording of an entire Rossini opera will be played.
For St George’s Day (also known as Shakespear Day) we’ll have some of the bard’s sonnets from
Dame Edith Evans.
After the 9pm news is a book reading (or similar) and will feature the concluding episodes of “Sons and
Lovers”. New readings will be from Gavin Maxwell’s “Ring of Bright Water” and Sarah Henderson will
read her autobiography , “From Strength To Strength”.
Usually notices and information for local listeners is broadcast between the end of the reading and
10pm, but could be heard at anytime during the evening.

Apologies for not being able to play the 4 episodes of The Man Who Listens To Horses.
I found out just as I was loading this tape into the Studio tape player that the tape was either worn out or had been subjected to a strong magnetic field at some time. The signal obtained from it was not up to an adequate standard to broadcast. Later I also discovered the tape had been repaired at sometime, and the repair job was not up to standard either. I hope you enjoyed the spur of the moment fill-in - The Glums.

I considered that gmail and Google blogging were relatively simple and quick.
I may have to change my mind about that. The new, latest, fastest pages are getting way too slow. All the "speeding up" that was done to Yahoo and Hotmail pages brought my usage of these pages almost to a standstill and I've since relinquished them on account of them being too slow. Is Google going the same way?

I also note that all blogs added after Google started making the adjustments have disappeared. and only earlier entries remain on the blog. Is this too a sign of a new improved service?
