Kia ora and greetings, Listeners,
The Himalaya readings have finished alot earlier than expected because of the poor quality of some of the tapes meant they couldn't be played. I had anticipated this running until about Easter, but so be it. Most of the taped series I have are someone else's castoffs so I always play them with my fingers crossed hoping the quality is ok. Sometimes the content will catch me out too, I hope I don't cause offence to too many listeners. I check them out to a certain extent, but I certainly don't play each tape through in its entirety prior to putting it on air.
The 13 part series of Educating Archie was a disappointment to as one episode on the Mp3 disc was not EE but TIFH (Take It From Here{which we'd already heard from another source}) and 2 other episodes were duplicated.
The archival information from the period 1939 to 1945 comes from DVDs that are indexed on their cover, but not on the disc and often there is great difficulty in locating a specific item in the disc without playing the durn thing right through - the audio section of the disc being at the end of a 3 hour programme of video.
