Update on the previous post

Hi,

Further to the previous post-

For the time being, I am not producing any more radio programmes.

I have notified the Trust that runs Oamaru Heritage Radio to this effect.

It's going to be quite a task organising the articles I’ve taken from a 120 sq

metre house and trying to make them fit into an 80 sq metre house.
When (if) this job is completed I will consider where to next.

I have heard from the Trust that the Moeraki transmitter of OHR is likely to

be turned off due to the extremely low (read ‘non-existant’) listenership. At
a recent public meeting where 55 residents of Hampden/Moeraki of all
ages were present, the question was asked “How many of you have tuned
into Oamaru Heritage Radio from Moeraki?” One person only, responded.
Licence fees cost about $400 a year for this transmitter. That’s a lot of

money for one listener.
The two transmitters (North End and Cape Wanbrow) in Oamaru will

continue to propagate the OHR signal (107 and 88.3 respectively).

Going to the internet address of www.ohr.nz will allow you to listen in,

where-ever in the world you may be. But I won’t be there.

So, farewell dear Listener, until we meet again. And I hope we do.

Any comments or enquiries-- I'd be pleased to hear them.

Happy trails,

Trevor

Nothing to report yet for June or July

Greetings.

As of early June I am changing my address. ( I mentioned this back last Spring when I put my house on the market.)
Alot of work has to be done to be able to meet the carrier's deadline, and I won't have time to prepare or present a radio programme.

When installed at my new address, again there will be alot of work to do to set up a studio 'desk' for putting a programme out into the Oamaru Heritage Radio transmissions. I figure it could be 5 or 6 weeks before everything falls into place.
Then, when everything's hunky-dory, I'll be back on air with my regular programme
I am hoping that the 5.30 Biggles serial will continue to get played in my absence- it's due to finish sometime in November if it's played to its regular schedule.
The 9pm book reading has stalled at the midway point. It is 8 episodes on and the second lot of 8 episodes will be heard when I get back on air.

I would like, if the powers that be are amenable to also introduce new programmes. One would be a programme of jazz of the period 1920 to 1950, and the other, a programme of drama, comedies and documentary from the archives of wireless.

My email address remains the same    trevorofhampden at gmail.com.  Contact me and tell me what you want to hear. I can't promise anything, I play what I like, but I'm open to ideas.
If you want to play what you like, why not join the staff at OHR. Give them a bell at 034340362 or use the 'contact us' part on the web page, www.ohr.nz (from where you can have your computer tuned into OHR).

Happy Trails, Trevor.
